The ASq is similar to the current standard online video ad model, Pre-Roll, with one major difference: the slate (as pictured above). This is the billboard that appears in the video player before content runs and asks the viewer to choose an ad. The viewer is given up to 15 seconds to choose. The Chosen video ad runs prior to content. If an ad is not chosen, a Default video ad will run.
The ASq is the winner of The Pool Lanes 1 and 2, and in the field trials superior results were seen when consumers selected an ad. Compared to Pre-Roll, the lift for the Chosen ad was significantly higher for completion rate (12%), click through rate (222%), top of mind awareness (363%), online ad recall (292%) and purchase intent (22%).
